Bluehost – Got NOMS that you want to write about? Maybe you should try starting your own food blog. To get started, you’ll want to find a place to register your name and host your content. We are currently hosted on bluehost and have found it to be a pleasant experience. Great pricing, great support and the site is easy to use. Getting our name registered and all set up was a breeze – the hardest part was actually picking out a name for the blog! Their service also comes with Word Press, which I’ll talk about a little more below, and the option to purchase several themes and plugins that you might find useful later on. Out of all the research I did before setting up getNOMSblog, I found Bluehost to have the most bang for my buck! Lastly, if you sign up through one of our links, Bluehost will show our wallet a little love, so please feel free to use those links, and tell your friends!
Studio Press is the system that will manage your blog’s content. In other words, think of Bluehost as your blog’s house. That’s where it lives. Studio Press is what hosts WordPress which is like your blog’s mom. It manages all your content and keeps things tidy and secure. This is what is called a Content Management System or CMS. Studio Press, as a WordPress hosting site, gives you access to various premium themes that help non-coders like myself build a site that looks pretty professional (if I do say so myself!) It provides security, helps you install widgets and plugins and ensures your site will run fast when you get those thousands of readers hitting your page every day! Check out the Studio Press main page and watch the short video they have right on the front page titled, “Why StudioPress Sites”. Sure, it’s a marketing thing for them, but we back all the thing they say they can do! While you’re there, you can check out a lot of the themes they have, but we’ll tell you which ones we’re using just so you can have a point of reference.
